Car/Fleet
The two main areas that are covered by a motor policy are:
-
Physical loss or damage to your vehicle.
-
Damage to third party vehicles and property.
Full compliance with the legal requirements of owning and driving a motor vehicle is vital to the validity of any motor insurance policy. Failure to comply with the following basic requirements will almost always result in the repudiation of a claim:
-
The driver must be appropriately licensed to operate the vehicle (e.g. PRDP.)
-
The vehicle must be roadworthy (e.g. smooth tyres render a vehicle un- roadworthy.)
-
Your company must be the registered owner of the vehicle (this ensures that you have an insurable interest.)
-
The exact use to which the vehicle is engaged must be fully disclosed to the insurer.
